It’s hard to believe that the Winter Quarter is already upon us. Think about it, by the time this quarter ends Christmas, New Year’s and Valentine’s Day will be behind us and Spring flowers and warmer temperatures will be right around the corner!

Many changes will take place and many opportunities to grow in our Biblical knowledge and our relationships with the Lord and one another will present themselves to us. What you get out of Bible class this winter really depends upon what you are willing to put into it. The majority of our classes are discussion based and are arranged in a staggered pattern, which gives us all the opportunity to participate and learn from one another, and by design, to catch a session in a class we may have missed the previous quarter.

As you consider a Bible class to attend in this upcoming quarter, be prayerful, challenge yourself, encourage others and bring others with you. If you or your family have not been committed to attending Bible class in the past, now is the time to make the commitment to be active and participate with the beginning of a new quarter. Below are the class offerings that you have the opportunity to choose from:

FISHBOWL: Parables – Chris Girvin & David Belt: - “We all love a good story. But the parables of Jesus are even better than that. They sneak up on us, catching us off guard and toppling our easy assumptions. When the familiar takes an unexpected twist, we find our secret thoughts exposed to the healing light of Jesus. This Bible study introduces twelve of the greatest stories ever told; how might they change your thoughts and actions?”

FELLOWSHIP HALL: Matthew I – Wayne White & Harold Harrison – “What would it be like to be discipled by Jesus himself? What would He teach you about relationships, priorities, wealth and his coming kingdom? What would you learn from His actions? Matthew's Gospel brings you face to face with Jesus as He calls, teaches and prepares His disciples. As you work through these Bible studies on Matthew, you can become one of those chosen followers.”

AUDITORIUM: - Abraham – Terry Burton & Jerry Arnwine “It sounded crazy. God had promised Abraham, an old man with no children, that his descendants would be as numerous as the stars. Yet Abraham chose to believe God, embarking on a transforming, lifelong journey of faith and obedience. God has made promises to us as well.”

C204: - Prayer – Devin LaBay & Aubrey Eudy – “You pray for your own needs and for the needs of others. You pray in the face of conflict, and you pray for forgiveness. You pray to pour out your heart to God and to gain a glimpse of God's heart for you. As we walk through the prayers of men and women in the Bible our goal is to gain new insights into why, what and how to pray and to experience more fully the adventure that prayer can be.”

Wednesday PM – Auditorium – Leviticus – Devin LaBay – “At the center of the Pentateuch (The first five books of the Bible), is Leviticus and it reveals the heart of the Old Testament Law. Portions of the law teach the holiness God requires of His people. Other portions teach the forgiveness God offers to restore sinners to holiness. The major focus of Leviticus is “atonement”,(at-one-ment) – God’s provision for forgiveness."
